Search conducted at xx on May 23, 2000 using
"Lepidoptera" as the sole keyword. Some obvious errors
(e.g. inclusion of Apodemia mormo under Nymphalidae) were
corrected and the "families" (which were very
subjectively applied, for example, the "Acreidae" were
listed, but not the "Heliconiidae") were combined to the
more conservative taxonomy used in the book.
All of the listed butterflies combined total
only 2.06 - 2.32% of all butterflies. A surprising majority of
these 400 species are listed as NE (not evaluated).
